Choose for your routine: Brilliance glass makes sense when you need oven-safe bases for meals at home. The plastic set suits matching lunch portions when oven use is unnecessary. These sets have different capacities, so compare the containers you will use—not just the number on the box.

Count containers, not just pieces

A lid counts as a piece in these sets. The plastic pack gives you five complete containers; the glass pack gives you nine. For a fair value check, divide the current price by the number of containers you actually need. A larger assortment is not automatically a better purchase.

Are Rubbermaid Brilliance lids oven-safe?

No. The glass-base oven rating does not apply to plastic lids. Follow Rubbermaid’s current care instructions for temperature changes, reheating and cleaning. Do not treat an oven-safe rating as permission to use a container under every heating condition.

Which fits a small fridge?

Neither wins without measurements. Measure shelf depth and clearance, including the space needed to lift and remove a container. Check the selected container’s dimensions, not the shipping-box dimensions. Decide whether several matching portions or a range of leftovers matches your weekly routine.

What we would check before ordering

Our research and its limits

We checked the selected Amazon listings and Rubbermaid’s published care guidance. We have not performed leak, drop, stain or long-term durability tests. Our recommendation is about fit and stated features, not a claim that one set outlasts another. Prices and ratings are left on Amazon so you can see the current listing.
